also known as: fox talking about breeds of dogs he owns or would like to own in the future or just likes in general. i’m just talking about dogs here.

cattle dogs
liz is a cattle dog (well, mostly cattle dog — being a rescue mix and all, lol)! i love herding breeds in general, as this list will show, soooo of course my dog is a cattle dog. i just really like how smart and more independent they are — i like when dogs will “talk back” to me, i don’t care about complete biddability like howlabs tend to be – i like when dogs can say “this is stupid”, lol.
also liz is the most perfect doggy because she’s my doggy. she ‘s the best about meeting new dogs, even though she very much has preferences in what dogs she considers friends/playmates and who she doesn’t vibe with. i can have her meet new dogs and be confident she won’t decide it’s on sight, like how some dogs are. which is a good thing because she comes to work with me & interacts with so many dogs on a daily basis.
finnish lapphunds
(hopefully) the breed of my next puppy!! the image on the right is from seahaven lappies — the breeder who i’m hoping to get a puppy from soon(ish)! they’re another herding breed — this time reindeer herders, so they have a lot of the same qualities that i like in cattle dogs, plus they’re sooo fluffy. i love these little guys. just look at them. literally the fluffiest beasties ever.

if everything goes to plan i will have one joining the family soon ™… hopefully…. and then perhaps we’ll play around with showing. the lapphund with conformation & liz with weight pull or barn hunt or something like that.. maybe scent work for everyone too. we’ll see……

shiba inu
image from timberwood paws! shibes are the other breed on my “maybe the next dog list”. i love them. they’re even more independent and opinionated but looook at that lil face.
also the tail. gay lil tail. loooove them.
